I like the sound and the way it's designed. I was looking for a cd player that could be charged and then used with or without the electric cord. I tried to determine this from the description and hoped the word 'Portable' meant that this was the case. I've used it a bit now and I don't think that I can charge the battery, so I will always need an outlet nearby. (I guess). I emailed Gueray about this question but never heard back from them.

When I purchased the cd player, it specified on the site that the player can be charged and work on battery without being always connected to charging. Although in reality it doesn't turn on unless it's connected to the charger, so I didn't like it isn't chargable like it showed on the site. Other than that, I really like the player, I love the sound quality and all of it's functions although I wish the cover that protects the cd would go up more a bit so it'll be easier to put on a cd.
